House on the edge of the Furnas Lagoon
A mystical place, covered with all possible shades of green and calm waters.
And some say that the greatest wealth of the Furnas Valley lies in the diversity of the mineral and thermal waters of its springs, being considered, by specialists, the largest hydropower in the world.
It is surrounded by abundant Macaronesian vegetation, as well as abundant volcanic manifestations of the type Fumarola, sulfatara and boilers of boiling water. On the banks of this lagoon and due to the fervent volcanic waters are the traditional Portuguese-cooked stews, under the earth with the heat of these volcanic manifestations.
On the banks of this lagoon is one of the most curious chapels of the island of São Miguel dedicated to Our Lady of Victories, this temple, the Chapel of Our Lady of Victories was destined to be the Mausoleum of José do Canto and was solemnly inaugurated in 15 of August of 1886.
